Description: | The 2019 World Language Standards introduce a very different approach to instruction focused on language proficiency. This can be a challenging transition for teachers who were taught and are accustomed to a textbook focused or vocabulary/grammar focused curriculum design. World language teachers, curriculum directors and administrators are invited to join former IDOE World Language Specialist Jill Woerner, who has spent the last few years back in the classroom teaching in a target-language rich and proficiency focused classroom, to learn how to make the transition and engage students with these new standards as well as how to look at the new materials available for World Languages. |
