Teachers will USE a series of classroom technology tools throughout the workshop as they learn about language proficiency and unit building. These tools will be presented in a usable and interactive format so teachers get to test them out and learn about a variety of scenarios in class where these would be applicable. Teachers will see how these tools can help them reach their proficiency goals for students! There will be many other classroom activities presented in an interactive way so teachers will have fun while being engaged in their learning! Come network with colleagues, learn with and through new technology tools, and fill your toolbox with new proficiency-focused activities and ideas. You’ll be ready to gear up for the following school year!

Agenda:

Jill Woerner is a high school Spanish teacher and former Global Learning & World Language Specialist at the IDOE. She is a former administrator who has been involved in professional development initiatives for World Language teachers throughput Indiana. Jill was an ACTFL (national) finalist for World Language Teacher of the Year in 2012.She is also a current board member with ACTFL and CSCTFL. Her presentation at IFLTA 2018 was selected as the BEST in Indiana. In this session, Jill will address how to achieve the proficiency goals of the new World Languages standards.

Please bring an electronic device (preferably a laptop but iPads will work), and curricular materials you would like to incorporate into any units you create, any questions that you have, and a “Can Do” attitude!
