This program is designed specially for Middle School and High School Media Specialists and teachers. Non-fiction texts are firmly a part of the Indiana educational landscape, but our students often struggle to understand these more complex texts, and we often struggle because they are not often our favorite genre, so we not only do not know where to begin to help students understand these texts but also where to find them. Spend a day with Colette Huxford immersed in all things non-fiction. You will do the following: Discover ways to help students understand and interact with non-fiction texts and gain skills to help improve test scores; Begin investigating how both you and your students can easily create book trailers; and meet at least 50 student friendly non-fiction titles
